I make sculptures from a wide range of materials with particular expertise in metals and plastics.
My work ranges from large-scale public commissions to site-specific exhibitions.
The emphasis on my work at all times is to create work that is in direct response to the environment in which the sculpture will be viewed.
The backbone to all my sculpture is a desire to create a strong sense of place and individuality, to capture the imagination of the viewer and to make a striking yet subtle statement.
I create a sense of solid using planes rather than fully enclosing the object, I use the void to expand the space, using multiples at times to transform a sculpture into a new overall form.
My work has been described as abstract, yet creates harmonies within the environment, uniting the sculpture with its surroundings.
More recently I have undertaken the role of artist consultant on a number of projects, working with architects, engineers and planners to integrate artworks and art projects into the fabric of new building developments.
